How our early communication program works

When you extend speech therapy learning and practice into everyday life, kids make faster progress. We built our client portal to make it easy to do just that.

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

: Your speech therapist will choose from a variety of standardized or norm-referenced tests for your child's evaluation. They may assess how well your child performs age-appropriate communication tasks, focusing on their vocabulary, ability to answer yes/no questions, and ability to listen to and follow directions. The results will be used to develop a personalized care plan for your child's treatment, which typically includes 2 sessions per week.
: Review and reinforce the communication strategies that you and your child are learning, such as imitation, offering choices, and using social routines.
: Our experts demonstrate techniques for meaningful communication, such as recasting, language modeling, and emphasizing sounds and words.
: Your speech therapist will assign easy ways to practice communication strategies during your child’s everyday routines.
: Get tips, support, and answers to questions from your speech therapist between sessions.

Outcomes-focused

We typically recommend a frequency of 2 sessions per week for early communication, although this may vary depending on your child's needs. The more often your child practices, the faster they’ll make progress. After each session, your speech therapist will give you easy practice activities to do at home. You'll find them in your portal.
