About me

Hi! I'm Carly. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2021. I became an SLP because I love learning about language and how we use speech to communicate our thoughts, ideas, and emotions to others. Speech-language pathology is an amazing field because it includes a huge variety of areas such as science and language. My favorite thing about being an SLP is helping others to have a voice so that they can communicate with their family, friends, and community. I love seeing the progress my clients make in sessions, but more importantly, I love when they recognize their own progress towards improving their communication. I completed the TouchChat Partner Program that provided training on the AAC app and strategies for utilizing the program with clients. I have participated in Proloquo2go trainings from an AAC specialist/SLP. I have taken many CEU courses about integrating play into speech and language therapy, as well as completed articulation and language CEUs. I worked at a therapeutic day school, and two clinics. I have been a remote SLP for the last two years and provided speech-language teletherapy services for a special education cooperative, daycares, elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, and strengths-based.
