About me

Hello! I'm Charita. I became an speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2004 because I am a person who finds joy in generating better outcomes for others. Being an SLP allows me to use my abilities to affect change in others, and activates my creative energy. To say that my job is rewarding is a major understatement. I've worked in a variety of clinical settings such as hospitals (acute care), outpatient clinics, dayhabs, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), private practices, and autism schools. I am certified in LSVT LOUD, DIRFloortime, and Basic Life Support (BLS). I am also a graduate-level instructor for Neuroanatomy of Speech-Language Pathology and an undergraduate- and graduate-level instructor for Child Language Disorders. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment by creating self-advocates.

Charita is personable and understanding. It was a pleasure working with her. She eased my anxiety on opening up to discuss my issues. She is assuring and I am very glad to have worked with her.

The evaluation process was easy, thorough, and enlightening. I very much appreciated Charita Gadson’s knowledge and professionalism, and equally, their willingness to take breaks during the session to address my questions.
