About me

Hello! I'm Keriann. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2012. I knew since a young age I was meant to help people. I initially thought I wanted to be a teacher or a nurse, and I feel like speech-language pathology falls right in the middle. It wasn't until my senior year of high school when a friend of my family's got into a car accident and suffered a TBI. I saw how much it effected he speech and language as well as her memory. I think that is when I became more curious about her healing process. I honestly did not know a lot about speech-language pathology at the time and during my second year of college, I decided to take my first into class. It has been the best decision I ever made. I have attended multiple trainings including, but not limited to: voice disorders, autism spectrum disorder, PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT), early childhood language, articulation and phonology and stuttering. I most recently completed a mentorship to specialize in augmentative alternative communication (AAC). I have worked in schools, early intervention, private practice and outpatient hospital. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, and sensory integration.

Other interests

Outside of being a speech-language pathologist, I love seeking adventure. I love everything from swimming in the ocean, hiking mountains, stand up paddle boarding, reading, cooking, spending time with family and friends, traveling and learning new things. I just recently took my first ceramics class and want to learn how to play an instrument this year.

After a rocky start with three last-minute cancellations by Expressable (out of six scheduled sessions) and contradictory messages about scheduling, things smoothed out and went very well in the end.
