About me

Hi! I'm Lauren. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2024. I pursued a career in Speech-Language Pathology because I want to empower individuals to be confident communicators in expressing themselves. Before becoming an SLP, I worked as middle school English Language Arts teacher and in advertising for nonprofits. These experiences and others instilled in me the importance of communication, which is why I want to help others feel like effective communicators and confident in their communication skills. I have received trainings and certifications in the following: Supported Conversation for Adults with Aphasia (free online course), Blank Center for Stuttering Education and Research CARE Model (semester long externship), Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) for Health Care Providers. I worked in settings such as nonprofit/outpatient (clinical fellowship), education and research institution (externship), outpatient (graduate school), and schools (graduate school). I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, strengths-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
