About me

Hello! I'm Michaela. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2021. I became an SLP because I saw the substantial impact made not only in the patient/client's life, but in the lives of their families as well. It's an amazing opportunity to be able to help someone establish challenging goals for themselves and watch them start achieving those goals. I have worked in settings such as SNF, outpatient, and acute care. I have taken a certification course for traumatic brain injury, LSVT LOUD, tracheostomy and ventilator management course, MBSImP, and FEES certification. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, routines-based, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.

Other interests

In my free time I love traveling and seeing the world, camping/backpacking and hiking to escape the city lights and noise, and being outdoors in any capacity. If I am indoors, I love to read books (mostly rom-com and psychology thriller) and to use my cricut machine to make new crafts.

informative, engaging, creative and I love the virtual process. I'm learning so much on how to help our baby.

She is wonderful at giving us tips and advice to help us communicate more effectively. She’s a great motivator and seems knowledgeable in her field.

It was actually fun learning from Michaela as she kept things light and breezy. The last thing on your mind was that you were in a learning environment. Even though you were in fact an informal classroom setting, some of the exercises were fun. Such as the tongue twisters. There were no boring moments. In short, the half-hour blew by in what felt like 15 minutes flat.
