About me

Hello! I'm Rebecca. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2019. While in high school and observing several occupations (per my mother's lead), I discovered that I loved to help people, loved working with people of all ages, and enjoyed the opportunity to get to know those people over time. I also have someone in my immediate family who truly benefited from the support of a speech-language pathologist, which supported my decision. Since becoming an SLP, I have grown more and more confident in my decision to become an SLP and feel grateful to have the opportunity to work with such wonderful people and families throughout their journeys. I have taken many courses in the areas of feeding, oral motor, and swallowing. I participated in Feed the Peds and The Myo Method which have supported such areas. I have also attended the ASHA conferences, both in person and virtually, completing a variety of courses. I have participated in seminars regarding autism spectrum disorder, medically complex populations, and other diagnoses which may affect both sensory and mechanical engagement with food and the oral mechanism. I consider myself a lifelong learner and enjoy learning about new topics and areas! I have worked in settings such as schools (Pre-K through 12th grade), private practice, pediatric outpatient, and skilled nursing. I would describe my clinical style as holistic, client-centered, functional, individualized/personalized, sensory integrated, and rooted in client empowerment to create self-advocates.
