About me

Hello! I'm Rebecca. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2021. I became a speech-language pathologist out of a deep-seated passion for connecting people through communication and eating. While I have specialized in working in pediatrics, I find immense joy in supporting children, adults, and their families navigate their journeys expressing themselves and in sharing in meals. I continue to be inspired by the ability of communication and mealtime interactions to foster deeper connections between all of us. I have worked in settings such as therapy farm, private practice, and schools. Before becoming an SLP, I received my Masters in Teaching (MAT) in Special Education with a specialty in Multiple and Complex Disabilities. I have specialty training in feeding and swallowing, and have completed the SOS Approach to Feeding conference. I will soon complete Meaningful Speech Course focused on child-led therapy, neurodiversity affirming speech-language therapy, gestalt language processing, and the NLA framework (expected July 2024). I would describe my clinical style as holistic, functional, individualized/personalized, family-centric, strengths-based, and sensory integrated.

The therapist was very knowledgeable. She did a great job at getting my son’s attention and listening to everything he was saying. She explained what is going on in a way I could understand. I was nervous but she put me at ease and now I’m excited for him to start regular sessions
